Apart from that, there was a lack of communication and clearly defined job responsibilities among staff.

A RACI Matrix was developed to help Highlander Marine visualise every task and key decision involved in completing the assigned tasks, as well as the responsibilities of different roles. This brought structure and clarity regarding the roles various stakeholders play in the value chain.

Process Management

Process mapping was carried out, where the task and steps associated with the production processes were clearly defined and reviewed. Various operations workflow diagrams were developed to highlight the essential relationships between process owners and the decisions that need to be made along the chain. Process “pain points” that were creating friction or pain for process owners due to sub-optimal processes were identified and solutions were proposed to rectify them.
