Yu Sin Engineering Work was established in 1997 and started off by doing maintenance projects for facilities shut-down maintenance. They subsequently ventured into the tunnel boring industry and currently specialise in the erection, oversight and commissioning of major industrial plant facilities and large machineries.
Yu Sin Engineering has been relying on paper based documentation for human resource management and data collection. This could potentially give rise to issues such as erroneous and backdated entries, missing data, tedious data collection and consolidation, or even pay disputes. To stay on par with competitors and scale up, there is a need for Yu Sin Engineering to relook its current manual processes and explore how they can tap on new technologies.
Business Strategy Development
While examining the current processes at Yu Sin Engineering, we discovered that they could benefit greatly from digitalisation. Hence, we strongly encouraged them to kick-start the company’s digital journey by tapping on the government’s SME Go Digital program, where sector-specific digital solutions pre-approved by IMDA could be adopted to transform the business.
Human Capital Consulting
To replace its current paper-based timecards for employees’ attendance taking which could be erroneous and time consuming to consolidate, we proposed the adoption of Mobile Workforce Management software-as-a-service (SaaS) on web and mobile platforms. The new Human Resource Management System (HRMS) could be used to record attendance instantly while synchronizing the data in real-time to the backend server for accurate salary computation.

Besides improving work efficiency, the new Human Resource Management System (HRMS) for Mobile Workforce Management also allows Yu Sin Engineering’s management to track the labour cost incurred for each project. It is estimated that proper use of this system can reduce task scheduling and processing times by around 60%.
