Established in 1970, ArtDecor Design Studio, is a renowned interior design company known for its expertise in multifaceted construction and renovation. They have developed a reputation for delivering projects that often exceed client expectations. Their services encompass the entire spectrum of the interior design process, from initial design consultations, to layout, space planning, construction and renovation.
ArtDecor Design Studio had no clear sense of purpose, as reflected by the lack of a vision and mission statement. Without clear goals and plans, they struggled to prioritise their efforts and allocate resources effectively, resulting in missed opportunities to achieve their desired outcomes. In addition to this, the business owner had plans to pass the baton to the next generation, however he had no robust and documented succession plan. The company was looking at grooming the next generation to become the custodian of the family business.

1. Succession Planning Framework & Process
To allow for a successful transition of power and leadership, we helped ArtDecor Design Studio identify responsibilities, followed by an upskilling program to align and develop the skills of the next generation. Passing the family business to the next generation is complex and involves analysing a number of complex issues. A six-step succession planning framework and process is established to help Artdecor to create a robust succession plan for the company, involving:

Process Management
1. Objectives and Key Results (OKR), a goal-setting methodology, was introduced to ArtDecor to help the team set measurable goals, track progress and align actions to the organisation’s strategy.
2. A Strategy Map was developed for ArtDecor to demonstrate a logical, cause-and-effect between objectives. With this simple visual aid, we communicated how value was created by the company.
