Launched in 2017, Authors Interior is a design studio that specialises in providing interior design and renovation services. With a focus on storytelling through design, they aim to create meaningful environments that inspire and leave a lasting impression.
Authors Interior lacked Mission, Vision, and Value statements. Employees did not have any clear direction, creating a lack of internal processes around specific, measurable goals—something that the partners wanted to rectify. In addition, the company lacked a corporate culture, KPIs, SOPs and internal management with regard to commissions, bonuses, and profit sharing. The company also wanted to rebrand itself to bring it more in line to the challenges that the industry is facing after the pandemic.
Leadership Consulting
1. Development and Workshop for Partners: The proposed solution enables the company to better align its goals, focus on key priorities, and foster commitment among employees.
Business Strategy Consulting
1. Workshop for KPIs and MVV proposed and conducted.
2. Growing the company with the Three Horizons of Growth of maintaining and defending core business, nurturing emerging business, and creating genuinely new business segments.
Human Capital Consulting
1. The use of KPIs as an indicator for salary adjustment, bonus, and profit sharing. Formulas for remuneration were developed and proposed to them and can be developed for future enhancement.
2. Human resources pertaining to hiring, onboarding, and training. Corporate culture as developed in the FISH! Philosophy.
For Corporate Culture
- Introduce and demonstrate core corporate values, vision, mission, orientation, training, and performance management.
- Employer Value Proposition (EVP) for current employees and potential job applicants.
- Reward and recognise employee’s achievement.
- Emphasis on the well-being of the employees.
Fish Philosophy
- Be there when people need you, which sends a message of respect which is important in building relationships.
- A mindset of play is one where it drives creativity and encourages service that is genuine and light-hearted.
- Giving appreciation will make a person’s day. This can be done in meaningful ways to show people that they are valued.
- Making a conscious choice controls one’s attitude, instead of allowing attitude to control one’s response that may affect others.
Customer Strategy
1. Increase sales and market share by expanding the product and service range, improving customer experience, taking note of new entrants to the industry.
2. Building awareness and establishing community through rebranding and digital marketing.
Process Management
1. Finance: The accounting is outsourced and thus having an impact on AR/AP planning. Proposal for an ERP for the company, with some vendors included as reference.
-
The partners were able to develop the company’s MVV, KPIs, OKRs for employees, improving the current internal processes.
- The developed bonus and profit-sharing templates were accepted and will be implemented for the next financial year.
- Improvement in KPIs and internal processes are estimated to add $450,000 to the business.
- ERP is projected to help the company to reduce its operating cost by 13%, SG&A by 15%, Procurement by 17% and labour cost by 36%.
